Dresden sitting down

Supposedly it rains and even snows sometimes in Dresden…

Then you might not really want to walk around outside but stay inside where it’s warm (or cool) and have a cool (or warm) drink…

That’s why you can book some of my city tours as indoor shows – and much more!

In cooperation with various Dresden restaurants, I can offer you shows with custom arrangements in the setting you desire.

IN THE PRESS:

“The proximity to the artist, his brilliant acting and the audience’s desire to spin a tale themselves made this show entertainment at its highest level.”
(Sächsische Zeitung)

THE DRAGON AND THE COFFEE GHOST – SAXON MYTHS AND LEGENDS FOR YOUNG AND OLD

Photo: Olaf Hais

Myths, legends and fairy tales – for young and old.

Learn about the wicked dragon Meix, who kidnapped the miller’s daughter, or the terrible coffee ghost, that can only appear in Saxony. Likewise, only Saxony is haunted by the Bishop of Meissen and a robber who still roams around today as a poltergeist. And I’m sure you’re dying to know what happened in the Mordgrund (an area in the Dresden Heath, word for word it means “Murder Ground”). You will be served a custom program from the broad array of Saxon myths, fairy tales and legends. A children’s and family program featuring participatory fairy tales and songs to sing along with or alternatively an adult program with spine-chilling, exciting legends, gallant stories and some not exactly moral events can be booked. In any case the show is sure to be amusing, funny, quick and exciting!

IN THE PRESS:

“This is just how a storyteller should look! He wears a colorful coat of soft, flowing velvet in all the colors of the rainbow. His gray locks spill out from under his Egyptian-looking cap and his bright blue eyes shine from his friendly countenance. A deep, jovial voice emanates from his round belly. Let there be no doubt: Stephan Reher is the perfect storyteller.” (Sächsische Zeitung)

Show length: approx. 45-80 minutes, depending on whether a family show or adult show is booked. The story selection is made individually for each group.

CRIMINAL DRESDEN – SONGS AND STORIES FROM DRESDEN’S CRIME SCENES

Doctor Watson – Photo: Jolanda Querbeet

Feared bandits, unscrupulous killers and crafty con men – all of them were up to no good in the Saxon royal residence. Some of them have even become the heroes of verses, anecdotes and witty horror stories. These include the bandit Lips Tullian and the Black Guard from the Tharandt Forest, the notorious Johannes Karasek and the con man Karl May, otherwise known as Germany’s most celebrated author of adventure literatur and inventor of the Apache Chief Winnetou. Famous criminals also need celebrity victims: for example, the great Dresden painter Gerhard von Kügelgen, who bumped into an assassin; the chamber virtuoso Gunkel, whose ex-lover shot him in the tram; even the Saxon King himself was in on the fun!
Grotesque and exciting, funny and tragic: this is the history of crime in Dresden. Learn all the clues from Doctor Watson himself – he can even sing the evidence. Always with a mischievous wink.

Show length: approx. 45-80 minutes, depending on whether a family show or adult show is booked. The story selection is made individually for each group.
